With robust material at the bottom that serves as a splashguard, there's space in the inner padded compartment for a laptop up to 15" or a tablet. An asymmetrical 3-way zip is extremely practical: you can open the pack from the top as usual, or from the side – no more rummaging through your gear to get to your electronics. Well-organized compartments inside the main compartment stow smaller items like a flash drive or your charging cable. A water bottle can be stored in the stretch outer pocket, while your phone is stored securely in the easy-access zip pocket on the other side. PFCs are part of a group of chemical compounds which are used to waterproof the outer layer of many outdoor products. They have come under criticism for being non-biodegradable, bioaccumulative and toxic, and suspected of being harmful to health. VAUDE has made a clear commitment to completely renouncing PFCs.
